The Last Album Ever

Earlier this year I chose ten albums to listen to if I was marooned on a desert island for the rest of my life. It’s not so difficult to choose a top 20, 10 or 5, but then I wondered: how about whittling it down to just one?

For me, it would have to be… Pink Floyd’s Meddle.

Why? The oceanic/sonar and foggy birdcall effects of “Echoes”, the driving rhythm and dark menace of “One of These Days”, the incredible guitar work, lyrics and football chants of “Fearless”, the jazzy warmth of “St. Tropez,” and the plaintive, simple blues (plus wolfhound howls) of “Seamus.” So many emotions explored here, and so beautifully done.

Now all I’d need is an awesomely clean and LOUD sound system – and a reliable source of electricity!

Which album would you choose if you could only have one – and why? (Note: It can be any single, double, triple or quadruple album, but not a boxed set)!

He’s going to have a look in his inventory and get back to me.
